Guardians of the forest: Reporting on Indigenous leadership in climate action webinar

The Amazon and other tropical forests are far more than the lungs of the Earth. They are home to millions of people, sources of food and livelihoods, and living cultural landscapes. Solutions Insights Lab is excited to welcome Daniela Orofino (NOSSAS/Amazônia de Pé), Silvia Gómez (Climate and Land Use Alliance), Andrés Mogro (Fundación Avina), and Renata Fleck Pontes dos Santos (Amazon Investor Coalition). They will discuss how journalists can strengthen their reporting by connecting the dots between Indigenous rights and effective climate action. They will dig into how securing Indigenous land tenure not only protects forests, but also sustains food systems, strengthens local economies, and upholds cultural traditions.
